On 13 December 2013, the ACCC released a draft report on the review of the declaration for the DTCS. The ACCC has formed the preliminary view to vary and extend the DTCS declaration for a further five years.
Report on draft decision
As detailed in the draft report, the ACCC has undertaken a comprehensive assessment of the state of competition on all DTCS routes (both de-regulated and declared) using a revised competition methodology. The ACCC also proposes a number of changes to the DTCS service description to more closely align with the DTCS Final Access Determination made in June 2012.
The ACCC invited submissions from interested parties on the preliminary findings of this inquiry and the draft decision. Submissions were due by 5.00pm on Friday, 14 February 2014.
