Small gas supplier exemptions register

About this register

This register contains details of suppliers that are exempt from subsections 26(1), 27(1) and 28(1) of the Gas Market Code. 

Suppliers are exempt because they meet the requirements for small suppliers supplying the domestic market, detailed in section 55 of the code.

The production limit for the small supplier exemption is based on the amount of counted gas that was produced in the most recent calendar year. So, production in 2023 is used to assess publication on the 2024 register, and production in 2022 is used for the 2023 register.

The ACCC must publish the name of deemed small suppliers, under the Competition and Consumer (Gas Market Code) Regulations 2023.

Supplier names published on this register may also be published on the conditional Ministerial exemption register, where the supplier meets the deemed small supplier exemption criteria and the Minister has granted the supplier a conditional exemption.
