About the gas registers
The ACCC manages several public registers related to the gas market.
We are responsible for investigating and enforcing the Gas Market Code. We don't assess or give exemptions from the code, but we do publish information about exemptions.
The Competition and Consumer (Gas Market Emergency Price) Order 2022 is an emergency measure that applies a temporary price cap on the supply of regulated gas. Under this emergency measure, regulated gas producers and affiliates of regulated gas producers can apply for a price cap exemption. We publish the names of exemption holders on the register.
This register contains details of exemptions granted by the Energy Minister, with the agreement of the Resources Minister, under section 61 of the Gas Market Code.
This register contains details of suppliers that are exempt from certain sections of the Gas Market Code. Suppliers are exempt because they meet the requirements for small suppliers supplying the domestic market, detailed in the Gas Market Code.
This register contains details of exemptions issued by the ACCC under the Competition and Consumer (Gas Market Emergency Price) Order 2022.
