About this register
This register contains a record of all infringement notices issued by the ACCC.
The ACCC will consider, on a case by case basis, the use of infringement notices alongside all our other compliance and enforcement tools to address potential contraventions.
Infringement notices may be issued where the ACCC has reasonable grounds to believe there has been a contravention of certain provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 or Australian Consumer Law, including:
- unconscionable conduct
- false or misleading representations
- pyramid selling
- certain product safety and product information provisions
- failure to respond to a substantiation notice
- false or misleading information in response to a substantiation notice
- certain provisions of industry codes of conduct
- certain provisions of the motor vehicle information scheme
- excessive payment surcharging
- certain consumer data right rules.
For more information see Fines and penalties. For more information on the use of infringement notices for potential Australian Consumer Law contraventions see our Guidelines.
