Draft decision13 Dec 2013

On 13 December 2013, the ACCC released a report of its draft decision for the MTAS declaration inquiry. In the report the ACCC indicates that it intends to continue to declare mobile voice termination services for a further 5 years. It also indicates that it is proposing to declare SMS termination services for the first time.

Additional submissions to the report of the draft decision

The ACCC received a submission from Thomson Geer on behalf of Message4U on 8 April 2014. The ACCC sought submissions responding to the issues raised in this additional submission by 16 April 2014.

Preliminary views on application-to-person SMS

On 23 May 2014, the ACCC contacted stakeholders directly to advise them of its preliminary views, and the reasons for those views, about whether the proposed declaration of SMS termination should expressly exclude application-to-person SMS. The ACCC welcomed comments in response to its preliminary views and a number of stakeholders provided responses which are available below.
