On 21 December 2009, Airservices Australia submitted a price notification the ACCC which proposed to establish a price for terminal navigation services at Avalon airport.
Based on its consultation with stakeholders and its benchmarking of costs and prices, the ACCC had no compelling reason to find Airservices proposed price unreasonable. Therefore, under Part VIIA of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (the Act) (known as the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 from 1 January 2011), the ACCC’s decision was to not object to Airservices’ proposed price of $5.49 (incl. GST) per tonne for a terminal navigation service provided to aircraft landing at Avalon aerodrome.
