Digital platform services inquiry - March 2023 interim report

On 28 April 2023, the ACCC released the sixth interim report for the Digital Platform Services Inquiry. 

The report considers competition and consumer issues in the provision of social media services to consumers and businesses in Australia by social media platforms, and highlights a range of competition and consumer harms occurring across social media services. The report continues to support reforms to protect consumers and businesses. 

Clarification of the interim report’s active user figures

Following the publication of the interim report on 28 April 2023, discrepancies in some of the figures stated for active users on platforms were identified. These figures have been revised in Digital Platform Services Inquiry - March 2023 interim report ( PDF 122.23 KB ).
