The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by the Australian Vending Buying Association (AVBA) to enable its current and future members to collectively negotiate with current and future suppliers of goods to be sold through unattended retail points, such as vending machines.

The ACCC considers the notified conduct is likely to result in public benefits in the form of transaction cost savings and better input into contracts, with little public detriment.

The notification was lodged on 8 June 2021 and the legal protection commenced on 23 June 2021. It will remain in force until 23 June 2027 unless it is withdrawn or revoked.

Copies of the notification and our Statement of Reasons are available on the ACCC public register at: Australian Vending Buying Association Incorporated
