Garden City Cabs Co-Operative Ltd - s.87B undertaking

This undertaking is part of settlement of proceedings against Garden City Cabs in relation to its anti-double shift policy known as the five-day rule, whereby once a driver began to work a taxi, that driver had to operate that taxi for five days. Any driver who employed another would have their radio services suspended. The undertaking follows the withdrawal by Garden City Cabs of the five day rule in Dec 1996 and agrees to implement a TPA compliance program before 31 March 1998 and to hold a General Meeting within 60 days of the date of this undertaking in order to insert a new Rule into its Operating Rules, to prevent Garden City Cabs from suspending communication services to its drivers who propose to or do employ commission drivers.
