On 27 February 2024, Australia Post provided the ACCC with a price notification proposing price increases for its reserved ordinary letter services to apply from 3 April 2024.
The proposed changes included an increase in the basic postage rate for ordinary small letters delivered under the regular timetable by 25% (from $1.20 to $1.50). Australia Post’s proposal also included a 25% increase to the price of regular timetable delivery for ordinary large letters up to 125 grams (from $2.40 to $3.00), and for ordinary large letters over 125 grams up to 250 grams (from $3.60 to $4.50).
On 13 March 2024, the ACCC decided to not object to the proposed prices for notified services set out in Australia Post’s price notification.
