Brookfield LP and MidOcean proposed acquisition of Origin Energy Limited

The ACCC has accepted court enforceable undertakings from Eos Aggregator (Bermuda) LP (Brookfield LP) and MidOcean Reef Bidco Pty Ltd (MidOcean) pursuant to s 87B of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

On 5 June 2023, the ACCC received an application for merger authorisation from Brookfield LP and MidOcean for their proposed acquisition of Origin Energy Limited (Origin).

Each of Brookfield LP and MidOcean undertakes that it will not complete the proposed acquisition the subject of the application for merger authorisation while the application is being considered by the ACCC. The ACCC accepted the undertakings on 6 July 2023.
