Five councils in the Campbelltown region of Sydney have applied for a revocation and substitution of a waste tendering authorisation granted in 2018. AA100428 granted authorisation to the Councils of Camden, Cambelltown City, Liverpool City, Wingecarribee Shire and Wollondilly Shire, to jointly tender and collaboratively contract for the provision of processing services for kerbside waste. The current application is seeking an extension of the authorisation term for a further five years, due to significant changes in circumstances since the original authorisation was granted.
On 23 September 2020, the ACCC granted reauthorisation for a further five years, until 1 July 2049.
