The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission regards today's announcement of changes to the proposed ticketing arrangements for the next round of Olympic ticket sales as a significant improvement.

"The Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games has indicated changes to the arrangements originally proposed", ACCC Chairman, Professor Allan Fels, said today.

"At this stage the ACCC has not had the opportunity of studying the details but looks forward to closer examination.

"Today's announcement is a significant improvement on the original arrangements.

"The ACCC recognises that SOCOG has some operational constraints at this stage on the sale of the tickets.

"The ACCC will seek greater detail of particular aspects to ensure the best possible deal for consumers".
