The Fair Trade Commission, Taiwan and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission met in Canberra yesterday and today as part of regular discussions on competition policy and deregulation.

The Taiwan delegation was led by Dr Gee San, and the Australian delegation by ACCC Chairman, Professor Allan Fels. Among the topics discussed at the talks were enforcement matters, deregulation, regulation of natural monopolies and recent developments in Australian and Taipei competition laws.

The delegation will go to Melbourne tomorrow for further discussions with ACCC staff and also talks with the National Competition Council.
