The ACCC has granted authorisation until 31 December 2050 to enable five Councils in south-east Queensland to collectively tender for waste processing services. The ACCC considers that collective tendering is likely to deliver public benefits and minimal public detriments. While the period of authorisation is longer than the ACCC typically grants, this will enable underwriting new investment in large scale waste processing facilities in the area.

Further information, including the ACCC’s determination, is available on the public registers at: Logan City Council & Ors (LCC).
