The ACCC has decide to re-authorise an amended management services Agreement which allows risk management services relating to fixed odds bets to be provided to Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) until 30 December 2028. Under the Agreement, management services will be provided by TSG Wagering (previously, ‘William Hill Australia’) and later by CrownBet (which is now called ‘BetEasy’).

ACCC authorisation is required as the Agreement might allow for coordination between RWWA and CrownBet, particularly with respect to the fixed odds that each offers, or may reduce competition with respect to wagering.

Authorisation provides an exemption from legal action for conduct that may otherwise breach the competition laws.

The conduct is likely to result in efficiencies for RWWA in the provision of fixed odds bets, enabling it to act as a more effective competitor to larger wagering providers.
