The ACCC proposes to re-authorise the Australian Property Institute (API) to continue to enforce certain professional standards and obligations under its Constitution, Code of Professional Conduct and associated policies.

The API was established to set and maintain standards of professional practice, education, ethics and professional conduct for its members and the broader property profession

The arrangements were previously authorised by the ACCC on 6 July 2016 for certain membership requirements and obligations under its Constitution, Code of Professional Conduct and associated policies. The existing authorisation is due to expire on 28 July 2021.

The ACCC proposes to grant re-authorisation for 5 years.

The ACCC has also granted interim authorisation for the conduct to continue while the ACCC assesses the application for re-authorisation.

The ACCC now invites submissions in relation to this draft determination by 2 August 2021, before making its final decision.
