The ACCC is proposing to grant re-authorisation with a condition to Chevron Australia Pty Ltd, INPEX Operations Australia Pty Ltd, Shell Australia Pty Ltd and Woodside Energy Ltd regarding the sequencing and timing of scheduled maintenance at their 6 LNG facilities in Western Australia and Northern Territory for another 5 years.

The ACCC has also granted interim authorisation to allow the arrangements to continue while the ACCC is considering the substantive application.

The ACCC first authorised maintenance schedule coordination in 2018, with a condition requiring that the Applicants publicly disclose information they share between themselves. The ACCC proposes to grant re-authorisation for the arrangements subject to essentially the same condition to ensure that the Applicants do not have an information advantage.

The ACCC is now seeking submissions in response to the draft determination by 31 March 2023, before making its final decision. Further details about the application and how to make a submission are available on the ACCC’s public register at Western Australian and Northern Territory LNG Producers.
