Competition analysis

On 7 November 2007, the ACCC announced its decision not to oppose the acquisition by Transpacific of the business trading as JRMS Services.

The ACCC considered the information provided by Transpacific and other information available to it. Based on that information, the ACCC considered that the acquisition of JRMS Services' relatively small-scale business and operations was unlikely to remove a significant source of competitive constraint in the relevant market. The main factor informing this view was the fact that, prior to the acquisition of JRMS Services, Transpacific did not provide any solid waste collection services in the north-west region (i.e. the region serviced by JRMS Services).
