Market definition

The relevant markets could be considered to be:
a. the market for the distribution of new domestically manufactured vehicles from place of manufacture to dealership; and
b. the market for the distribution of new imported vheicles from the place of import to dealership.

Competition analysis

ST Group does not operate in the above markets. The ACCC concluded that an acquisition by ST Group of either the Toll or Patrick Vehicle Transport Business would not substantially lessen competition as there would not be a change in market concentration.
