RJN imported and supplied 1,940 children’s dressing gowns labelled as “Strictly Sleep by RJN” and “Low Fire Risk”. When tested, the garment failed to meet the consumer product safety standard for children’s nightwear and further, may have misled consumers by stating that the garment was a low fire risk when in fact it was a high fire risk. The retailer supplied by RJN, Harris Scarfe Australia Pty Ltd immediately recalled the garment. RJN has agreed to implement a compliance program and to conduct a second recall.
