Description of Conduct

On 23 September 2021 Singapore Airlines Limited (Singapore Airlines) and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (Lufthansa) applied for revocation of authorisation AA60295-3 and substitution for a new authorisation for similar conduct for a further five years.

The proposed conduct enables the Applicants and their related bodies corporate to continue to coordinate certain operations between Singapore Home Markets (currently Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia) and Lufthansa Home Markets (currently Germany, Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland).

Under the new authorisation, the Applicants sought to expand the Singapore Home Markets to also include three additional countries, and to expand the Lufthansa Home Markets to also include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

On 11 February 2022, the ACCC granted re-authorisation until 4 March 2027. A copy of the determination is available below.
