On 23 April 2020, the ACCC engaged GHD to conduct a Depreciated Optimised Replacement Cost (DORC) valuation of ARTC's Interstate network to determine the Regulated Asset Base (RAB).
On 23 December 2020, the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) applied to the ACCC to vary the Hunter Valley Coal Network Access Undertaking. On 30 March 2021, ARTC withdrew its 23 December 2020 variation application and submitted a new variation application.

On 5 June 2019, the ACCC released a consultation paper to formally commence a public inquiry into making a final access determination for the domestic transmission capacity service (DTCS).
The ACCC is holding a public inquiry under section 497 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 (Cth) on whether to extend, vary, or revoke the current domestic mobile terminating access service (MTAS) final access determination.

ARTC stated it was seeking views on this proposal prior to formally submitting its replacement Interstate Access Undertaking application for ACCC assessment.
