The ACCC proposes to grant re-authorisation with conditions to the Australia New Zealand Industrial Gas Association (ANZIGA), its members and other suppliers of medical oxygen notified to the ACCC. The authorisation enables the parties to exchange information and make and give effect to contracts, arrangements or understandings required to ensure security of supply of medical oxygen to hospitals and similar medical facilities in the event of significant demand increases or supply constraints during the COVID-19 pandemic (the Conduct).
The ACCC has issued a draft determination proposing to re-authorise arrangements which allow current and future members of Medicines Australia and the Generic and Biosimilar Medicines Association (the MA/GBMA Working Group) to continue to implement a coordinated strategy in relation to the supply of essential medicines and related devices in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ACCC has granted interim authorisation in respect of application for re-authorisation AA1000581 lodged by the Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Group, on behalf of itself, 27 metropolitan councils and 8 regional councils and 3 regional waste and resource recovery groups.
The ACCC has granted interim authorisation to enable the City of Hobart Council, and 11 other participating councils in southern Tasmania, to progress a collective tender process for recycling waste processing services, including acceptance and sorting. The City of Hobart Council is joined in the tender process by Clarence City Council, Glenorchy City Council, Kingborough Council, Glamorgan Spring Bay Council, Tasman Council, Brighton Council, Huon Valley Council, Central Highlands Council, Southern Midlands Council, Sorrell Council, and Derwent Valley Council.
