Variation approved (deferral of disconnection - various services)6 Feb 2020

The ACCC has approved Telstra’s variation to the Migration Plan, as submitted to the ACCC on 18 November 2019, after determining that it complied with the Migration Plan Principles.

The ACCC’s assessment of the variation to the Migration Plan was limited to determining whether or not the Migration Plan, as varied, complies with the Migration Plan Principles issued by the Australian Government in 2015.

The varied Migration Plan includes amendments to a number of services that relate to:

  • Extended timeframes for disconnection requirements for non-serviceable premises.
  • Deferral of disconnection requirements for a small number of end-users dependent on Telstra’s ‘atomic clock’ signal in their DDS Fastway and Megalink Special Services.
  • Extension to the classification of In-Train Order Premises to include instances where NBN Co has changed a premises’ available access technology to Fibre to the Premises.

The varied Migration Plan also includes an amendment to Required Measure 5(B) which deals with the disconnection process for the CustomNet Special Service.
