Extension of interim service disconnection timeframes for In-Train Order Premises 2 Feb 2016

The ACCC has accepted a proposal by Telstra to extend the interim service disconnection timeframes for In-Train Order Premises.

The new timeframe will provide an additional 20 Business Days for Retail Service Providers (RSPs) to connect NBN services and migrate In-Train Order Premises before Telstra commences service disconnection. Under the new timeframes, Telstra will commence service disconnection from the date that is 150 Business Days after the Disconnection Date.

The extended timeframe will provide RSPs with greater certainty around the disconnection process and promote service continuity in the migration of customers to the NBN.

The ACCC strongly supports measures that improve the migration experience of end-users and promotes service continuity, and as such, has consented to Telstra’s proposal to extend the interim service disconnection timeframes.

The interim arrangements for In-Train Order Premises, including the new timeframe for service disconnection, apply to Premises located in Rollout Regions with a Disconnection Date falling in the 2015 calendar year and has previously been extended until 30 June 2016.

Telstra and NBN Co are continuing to finalise proposed long-term arrangements for In-Train Orders, which will apply from 1 July 2016.
