Extension of interim arrangements for In-Train Orders until 30 June 20161 Dec 2015

The ACCC welcomes a proposal by Telstra to extend the current interim arrangements for In-Train Order Premises until 30 June 2016.

The varied Migration Plan includes transitional arrangements for In-Train Order Premises that apply to Premises located in Rollout Regions with a Disconnection Date falling in the 2015 calendar year. These arrangements are designed to promote service continuity and improve the migration experience for end users by giving them additional time to migrate to the NBN.

The transitional arrangements are scheduled to operate until 31 December 2015 but under Telstra’s proposal will now be extended until 30 June 2016. The ACCC strongly supports measures that improve the migration experience of end-users and promote service continuity, and has therefore consented to Telstra’s proposal to extend the interim arrangements.

Telstra and NBN Co are continuing to finalise proposed long-term arrangements for In-Train Orders which will apply from 1 July 2016. Once finalised, we expect the details of these arrangements, together with a formal variation to the Migration Plan, to be submitted to the ACCC for approval.
