The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by Six/Left Group to enable collective bargaining by small to medium size homeware retailers to collectively bargain over point of sale financing.

The ACCC granted a 10 year notification period, the longest period that the ACCC is able to grant a collective bargaining notification for.

Participation in the Notified Conduct is voluntary for retailers and retailers who are part of the group may choose whether or not to accept any financing offer. Notification effectively provides a legal exemption; without it, collective bargaining by retailers may otherwise breach competition laws.

The ACCC has granted a notification period until 15 July 2028.

Further information, including the ACCC’s statement of reasons, is available on the ACCC’s notification Public Register.
