On 19 July 2021 the ACCC commenced a public inquiry to make a final access determination (FAD) for the superfast broadband access service (SBAS) following its decision to declare the service.
The SBAS final access determination inquiry will consider the price and non-price terms and conditions of access to the service.
The ACCC also issued an interim access determination for the SBAS which applies until a final access determination is made and maintains current regulated price and non-price terms.
On 4 November 2021 the ACCC published a discussion paper for comment. Submissions closed on 10 December 2021. On the same day the ACCC also published notice of extension of the inquiry until 19 July 2022.
On 27 October 2022 the ACCC released a draft decision for comment. On the same day the ACCC also published notice to extend the inquiry and current interim access determination. Submissions in response to the draft decision closed on 9 December 2022.
