Given the legislative changes under the Telecommunications Legislation Amendment (Competition and Consumer Safeguards) Act 2010, the ACCC suspended the review of the access pricing principles for fixed line services.

The ACCC continued to analyse submissions and new information received in response to the review of the access pricing principles.

On 23 November 2010, the ACCC issued a Position Paper announcing its proposed domestic benchmarking approach to transmission pricing.

On 19 March 2009, the ACCC released final pricing principles and indicative prices for the mobile terminating access service (MTAS) for the period of 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2011.

The ACCC held a consultation process about model non-price terms and conditions for the public switched telephone network (PSTN), unconditioned local loop service (ULLS) and local carriage service (LCS).

The ACCC has taken the submissions into account in developing the final pricing principles and indicative prices. The final report was released on 6 August 2008.

The ACCC released the final version of the telecommunications transmission cost model in April 2008. The model was designed with the flexibility to calculate cost-based pricing for backhaul on any land based (terrestrial) or under sea (submarine) telecommunications transmission route in Australia.

After considering interested parties’ submissions, the ACCC released the Draft MTAS pricing principles determination for the period 1 July 2007 to 31 December 2008.

The LSS pricing principles and indicative prices were published as part of the ACCC's LSS declaration review. That review was finalised in October 2007. The ULLS pricing principles were issued separately in November 2007.

The ACCC released its final indicative prices in November 2006. The indicative prices relate to the 2006 and 2007 calendar years.

During 2003-04, the ACCC conducted a public consultation on pricing principles for the domestic transmission capacity service (DTCS), releasing its final report in September 2004. In the final report, the ACCC made pricing principles for the DTCS but did not set indicative prices.

The DTCS is a generic service that can be used for transmitting voice, data or other communications between transmission points located throughout Australia.
