Under section 2.2(b) of the 2008 Interstate Access Undertaking (IAU), ARTC must submit to the ACCC a written statement outlining whether or not it intends to submit a new undertaking to the ACCC for its consideration, no later than six months prior to the expiry of the 2008 IAU. ARTC’s 2008 IAU is currently due to expire on 30 June 2020.

Electricity market monitoring 2018-2025 Energy Inquiry Ongoing

On 20 August 2018, the Treasurer directed the ACCC to hold a public inquiry that will monitor the prices, profits and margins in the supply of electricity in the National Electricity Market. The inquiry will provide its first report by 31 March 2019 and at least every six months thereafter until the conclusion of the inquiry on 31 August 2025.
