Pricing principles for price approvals & determinations under the water charge infrastructure rules
The aims of the pricing principles outlined in this guide are:
- to achieve consistency of approach where different regulators are responsible for price approvals or determinations across states it is proposed that accredited state agencies will be required to follow these pricing principles as a condition of accreditation
- to provide greater certainty to regulated operators about the approach that the regulator will adopt in approving or determining charges under Parts 6 or 7 of the Water Charge (Infrastructure) Rules 2010.
References in this guide to Part 5 of the WCIR (the requirement of certain infrastructure operators (Tier 2 operators) to produce network service plans) should be disregarded. This follows the removal, from 1 July 2017, of Part 5 from the Water Charge (Infrastructure) Rules 2010.
