This is the final report for the Digital Platforms Inquiry. In December 2017, the ACCC was directed to consider the impact of online search engines, social media and digital content aggregators (digital platforms) on competition in the media and advertising services markets.
The ACCC has completed its ninth annual report under the Water Act 2007 (Cth). The report provides information on the state of the rural water sector in the Murray–Darling Basin for the 2017–18 financial year.
The ACCC monitors and enforces the Competition and Consumer (Industry Code—Electricity Retail) Regulations 2019 (the Code), a mandatory industry code prescribed under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. The ACCC promotes, monitors and enforces compliance with the Code. As part of this role, the ACCC has published a guide to the Code for electricity retailers. The Code comes into force on 1 July 2019.
