The parties were involved in litigation by the ACCC relating to price-fixing and market sharing conduct in the Queensland Fire Protection industry in breach of sections 45(2)(a)(ii) and 45(2)(b)(ii) of the Act. The companies have agreed to implement a trade practices compliance program to prevent future contraventions of the Act by company officers, employees or agents. Mr Gordon Edmund Day and Mr Geoffrey Allan Murrell will use their best endeavours to ensure the company can meet its obligation to pay its pecuniary penalty.
