Recycling claims for nickel cadmium batteries used in video cameras.

At the time the batteries were sold there were no relevant recycling facilities available to the Australian public.

Undertakings given not to sell batteries or associated packaging displaying the recycling symbol, unless recycling facilities are available.

Also undertook that within three months, all video camera instruction manuals would provide recycling information.

In addition, Hitachi has advertised nationally, in the press, to inform customers who have bought the batteries about recycling arrangements.
