Recycling claims for JVC brand nickel cadmium batteries bearing the 'recyclable' symbol — three arrows in the form of a triangle. While recycling facilities were available in Japan when the batteries were distributed and sold in Australia, there were no such facilities in Australia.
Undertakings given not to sell batteries with the recycling symbol on them, unless recycling facilities are available.
In addition, agreement to advertise nationally in the press to inform customers who have bought the batteries about recycling arrangements.
