Signal, through Digital Discount Centre promoted a mobile phone package. In addition to not stating the full cash price of the package, they made representations as to free access to voicemail and an Australia wide flat rate contravening sections 52, 53(e) and 53C of the TPA.
Signal undertakes to:
- send a letter of apology
- inform customers that they will receive $50 credit towards payment of their account
- allow customers to exit the contract
- develop a compliance program having regard to the Australian standard, a complaints handling system and implemented within 3 months and remain in force for a minimum of 3 years.
