Monique Tompson - s.87B undertaking

From 29 January 2000 and throughout 2000, Greg Norman Production Company (GNPC), a subsidiary of Great White Shark Enterprises, was the manager of an unincorporated joint venture named the 2000 Shark Challenge Competition ('the Competition') until about August 2000 when management of the Competition was transferred to Universal Sports Challenge Limited (USCL). It is alleged that both USCL and GNPC throughout 2000 made false and misleading representations about the nature of prizes offered in relation to the Competition. It is also alleged that as one of the four directors of USCL Ms Monique Tompson was knowingly concerned in the conduct of USCL and GNPC.

The Commission was concerned that USCL had made representations which contravened section 52 of the Trade Practices Act 1974 and that Ms Tompson was knowingly concerned in the contravention. The Commission accepted the following section 87B Undertaking from Ms Tompson.
