Summary

The Forestry Corporation of NSW (FCNSW) proposes to acquire the assets of Hume Forests Ltd (Hume) from an investment fund advised by Global Forest Partners LP.

The FCNSW is a state-owned corporation appointed to manage environmental conservation, community access, tourism, fire, land management and renewable timber production on behalf of the NSW Government. Hume owns sustainable softwood plantation estates in the Tumut/Tumbarumba and Bathurst/Oberon regions of NSW.  

Market inquiries

The ACCC invites submissions from interested parties regarding the Forestry Corporation of New South Wales’s proposed acquisition of Hume Forests Ltd’s softwood plantation assets, which are owned by an investment fund advised by Global Forest Partners LP. The closing date for submissions is 17 August 2022.

Submissions should be forwarded electronically (preferably in PDF format) to mergers@accc.gov.au with the title "Submission re: FCNSW/Hume - attention Marisa Kuhlewein"
