On 11 August 2022, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) granted an exemption under section 56GD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) to Origin Energy Electricity Limited (Origin) deferring until 15 May 2023 its consumer data sharing obligations in respect of customers on Origin’s Velocity customer management and billing system that are not classified as large customers. The ACCC granted the exemption in response to an application from Origin.
