Australia Post is committed to implementing all aspects of the new tax system fairly, openly and rigorously. This document formally records their commitment to complying with Section VB of Trade Practices Act 1974.
The Public Compliance Commitment is provided by the Director of Public Transport on behalf of the Victorian Government in its role in setting public transport fares in Victoria. The Director of Public Transport is an officer of the Department of Infrastructure.
The Broken Hill Proprietary Company Limited is addressing the changes resulting from the implementation of the New Tax System. Consistent with this, BHP has prepared a Public Compliance Commitment in accordance with the ACCC's Price Exploitation Guidelines.
The purpose of this Commitment is to record the commitment of Qantas to furthering the principles of the Trade Practices Act 1974 and the Guidelines with respect to The New Tax System (TNTS), and to provide greater certainty as to the basis on which the Commission (the ACCC) may review the actions of Qantas.
The Part A Competition notice dated 10 August 1998 (in force 30 September 1998) was revoked by notice issued on 14 October 1998. A further Part A Competition notice was issued on 14 October 1998 (in force 14 October 1998).
The Part A Competition notice dated 28 May 1998 (in force 5 June 1998) was:
varied on 2 June 1998; and
revoked on 17 June 1998.
A further Part A Competition notice was issued on 17 June 1998 (in force 26 June 1998) and was revoked by notice issued on 22 June 1998.
