Summary
Delivery Angel lodged a notification for collective bargaining on 8 July 2024. Delivery Angel is a privately owned company that offers independent hospitality and retail businesses access to commission free ordering and food delivery platform technology. Delivery Angel has lodged the notification on behalf of itself, its 60 current members, and future members.
Delivery Angel is looking to extend its current services to include collective bargaining on behalf of its members with electricity and gas retailers (including through the use of an energy broker), insurance providers, waste removal businesses and national food and beverage distributors.
The notified conduct is proposed for an initial term of 10 years.
The notified conduct does not include a collective boycott and participation by members in collective negotiations and group tenders will be voluntary.
On 31 July 2024, the ACCC issued a Statement of Reasons for its decision not to object to the notification. Legal protection provided by the notification commenced on 22 July 2024 and will remain in force until 7 July 2034, unless or until the ACCC ends the protection provided by the notification or the notification is withdrawn by Delivery Angel.
