WA Primary Health Alliance Ltd and Participating Primary Health Networks – Primary Sense Project

On 14 September 2021 the ACCC received an application for authorisation from WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) on behalf of itself, Participating Primary Health Networks (PHNs) and all other PHNs who are eligible to become a Participating PHN. WAPHA seeks authorisation to negotiate and enter into contracts with participating PHNs to provide support services relating to the use of the to-be-developed ‘Primary Sense 2’ data extraction tool by Participating PHNs as well as on-boarding GP Clinics in each PHN region to transition to its use, and provide associated management and support services (the Proposed Conduct).

WAPHA is seeking authorisation for the Proposed Conduct for a period of 10 years.

WAPHA also seeks interim authorisation to allow it to facilitate the joint funding and development of the data extraction tool prior to the ACCC’s final determination in relation to the substantive application for authorisation.

The ACCC will progress its assessment of the application in a timely manner. An indicative timetable for the ACCC’s assessment is set out below.
