Description of Conduct
On 19 April 2024, Victoria’s 5 Electricity Distribution Network Service Providers, AusNet Electricity Services, Citipower, Jemena Electricity Networks (Vic), Powercor Australia and United Energy Distribution (the Applicants) lodged an application for authorisation to continue to operate their accreditation scheme requiring civil contractors performing underground civil works involving electrical infrastructure assets to meet certain accreditation standards.
The Applicants sought authorisation for 10 years.
On 15 May 2024, the ACCC granted interim authorisation to the Applicants to enable them to continue to operate their accreditation scheme while the ACCC considered the substantive application.
On 17 July 2024, the ACCC issued a draft determination proposing to grant authorisation for 10 years.
On 11 September 2024, the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation for 10 years until 11 September 2034.
