The Northern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils - Revocation and Substitution - A91401

The North Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (NSROC), on behalf of participating local councils in Northern Sydney, seeks revocation of authorisation A30231 and substitution with a new authorisation A91401, to call for joint tenders for and contracts for waste transfer, processing and disposal services for the councils.

The participating Councils at this stage are Hunter's Hill, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, North Sydney, Ryde and Willoughby.

NSROC also requested interim authorisation to commence the tender process.

On 26 February 2014 the ACCC issued a draft determination proposing to grant authorisation, until 31 December 2030. The ACCC also granted interim authorisation to enable NSROC and its member councils to commence a joint tender process, on the basis that NSROC and its member councils will not conclude any joint contracts until the ACCC makes its final determination.

On 9 April 2014 the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation, until 31 December 2030.
