Description of Conduct
The Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (APESMA) has applied for authorisation to collectively negotiate the terms of engagement on behalf of its current and future members who are independent contractors and provide interpreting and translating services.
APESMA is also seeking authorisation to advise translators and interpreters in relation to what constitutes fair rates of pay and other contracts terms for services.
On 4 June 2014, the ACCC issued a determination granting authorisation A91402 under section 88 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 for the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (APESMA) to implement its collective bargaining arrangements. Authorisation has been granted until 26 June 2019.
