Description of Conduct
On 17 July 2024, Tabcorp VIC Pty Ltd applied for authorisation to extend an agreement with Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) concerning RWWA’s participation in the SuperTAB pool. Authorisation was originally granted to another entity in the Tabcorp group in 2012 (authorisations A91323-91328) and the ACCC re-authorised the arrangements (A91528, A91535 and A91536) on 3 June 2016, until 15 August 2024.
Tabcorp sought authorisation for 2 years, until 15 August 2026.
Tabcorp also sought interim authorisation to enable the status quo to continue beyond 16 August 2024 while the ACCC considers the application. On 14 August 2024, the ACCC granted interim authorisation.
On 19 December 2024, the ACCC issued a draft determination proposing to grant authorisation.
On 15 January 2025, the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation until 15 August 2026.
