Description of Conduct

The Shopping Centre Council of Australia Limited (SCCA) has applied for revocation and substitution of authorisations A91329 and A91330 (re-authorisation). It seeks re-authorisation in relation to the Casual Mall Licensing Code of Practice which regulates the practice of casual mall licensing in shopping centres.

Casual mall licensing refers to agreements under which a person grants another person a right to occupy part of the common area of a retail shopping centre for the purpose of the sale of goods or the supply of services to the public. Persons are not permitted to occupy the common area for more than 180 days and average bookings last 12 days.

On 20 December 2017, the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation until 31 December 2020.
