Description of Conduct
On 27 August 2021, the State of Queensland as represented by Queensland Health (Queensland Health) lodged an application seeking the revocation of authorisation AA1000493 and substitution with AA1000572.
Queensland Health on behalf of itself, specified private healthcare providers operating in Queensland, and all Queensland public hospitals and other healthcare facilities seeks to negotiate and enter into agreements with each participating private healthcare provider, under which Queensland Health will provide funding and those providers will provide resources and services to the overall response to COVID-19 in Queensland being coordinated by Queensland Health.
Queensland Health also seeks authorisation on behalf of other private healthcare providers notified to the ACCC from time to time.
On 28 September 2021, the ACCC issued a draft determination proposing to grant reauthorisation and granting interim authorisation.
On 2 December 2021, the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation for 18 months, until 24 June 2023.
