Description of Conduct
On 12 September 2021, the Australia Capital Territory (the Territory) as represented by the Australia Capital Territory Health Directorate (the Directorate) lodged an authorisation seeking the revocation of authorisation AA1000513 and substitution with AA1000575.
The Directorate on behalf of itself, specified private healthcare providers operating in the Territory, and all Territory public hospitals and other healthcare facilities seeks to negotiate and enter into agreements with each participating private healthcare provider, under which the Directorate will provide funding and those providers will provide resources and services to the overall response to COVID-19 in the Territory being coordinated by the Directorate.
The ACTHD also seeks authorisation on behalf of other private healthcare providers notified to the ACCC from time to time.
On 28 September 2021, the ACCC issued a draft determination proposing to grant reauthorisation and granting interim authorisation.
On 2 December 2021, the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation for 18 months, until 24 June 2023.
